It's 5:50 pm here in London.  Sitting in my little dorm room, all unpacked and ready to start exploring.  This first post will be a catch-up since I had no internet during the voyage "across the pond."  First off, the rules of the blog!  Yes, I have rules.  But only one actually.  And a fun one, I think.  I've set myself the challenge of posting only 3 photos of each place I want to show you.  I can take as many as I want, but at the end of the day, I must select just 3 that I feel capture the spirit of the place.  Of course when I return home I'll post ALL of the photos on my website, but for the purposes of our adventure, alas, I am allowed only 3.  hee hee

Just getting used to how this blog thing works, so for this post the photos are above, but from now on you can look for them after my entry.  The pics above are the ones I chose to represent my voyage on the Queen Mary 2.  Some thoughts about the voyage over.  My second day out to sea I managed to get myself to exercise.  Ever taken a jog around the deck of a ship with nothing but the chilly Atlantic all around you?   Surreal.  And so fun.  3 laps around the entire ship equals 1.1 miles.  I dutifully did 3.

Met some lovely, lovely people on board.  And one couple that used to live in East Orange!  How crazy is that?  Really a teeny, tiny world, isn't it?  One of our dinner companions was an opera singer!  Wonderful lady with a real zest for life.  We went dancing till 2am our last night on the ship.  And she's in her 70s!  Priscilla Coughlin.  Have to check her out, see what she's performed.  She went to Juillard!  And met another couple - Paul & Heidi - who I hope to meet up with while I'm in old London town.  Have a pic of all of us together at dinner, but it didn't make the Queen Mary top 3.   :)

Ohh, I can't wait to read your daily posts, Vicki! I'm taking this whole trip with you--vicariously! Glad you arrived safe and sound and hope jet lag doesn't bite you too ferociously in the behind, haha! Hope you'll fill us in a bit more on the voyage. Did 7 days go by quickly or seem like forever? Have you found the grocery store, etc., there at Brunswick Shopping Centre by the Russel Square subway station?

ZELL! My London guru. :) Believe it or not I ended up walking right by Brunswick Mall before I realized what it was. it looks like a giant houseboat. lol... The 7 days went pretty quickly. The planetarium was amazing. And saw a couple of movies I hadn't seen. Food was just fair for the most part, sometimes really bad. But the desserts were always very good, so I ended up breaking out like a teenager. I'll fill you in on today's adventures in my blog post! How are you and your dear mom doing?
